Use these steps to publish metric analysis results to a specific data source. This is helpful when you want to share your results with other people.
In order to specify the data source, you must have a
Datasources.dat file. If you do not have one, Acumen will create one.
To publish metric analysis results to a specific data source:
-
Click
in the top left corner of the Acumen window.
-
At the bottom of the drop-down menu, click
Deltek Acumen Options.
-
On the Platforms (Deltek) page, click
Manage Data Sources.
If Acumen knows where the
Datasources.dat file is, Acumen displays the Data Sources dialog box. If Acumen cannot find the
Datasources.dat file, Acumen displays the File Open dialog box and you must point to an existing file or a location to create a new file.
-
On the Data Sources dialog box, do one of the following:
- Select a data source and click
OK.
- Add a new data source: Click
Add to add a new data source. Acumen displays the Data Link Properties dialog box where you can specify your data source details on the different tabs and click
OK. Use the Edit Data Source dialog box to enter a user-friendly data source name, enter a schema name, and specify whether or not the database is
Unicode and then click
OK.
- Edit an existing data source: Click
Edit and use the Edit Data Source dialog box to edit the user-friendly data source name, edit the schema name, and specify whether or not the database is
Unicode and then click
OK.
-
On the S2 // Diagnostics tab, click
.
-
On the
Select a project from the list
dialog box, select a data source and project and click
OK.
-
On the Export Settings dialog box, edit the fields if you would like to change them, or leave them as is, and click
OK.
- Schedule Project Name — This field displays the Acumen project name, which you can view in the Projects pane and is stored in the Project table in the database.
- Cost Project Name — This field displays the cost project name (if it exists) from the DCDE or the name of the contract associated with the project.
If the data source has the required tables and is a compatible version, Acumen looks for an existing project or snapshot that matches the selected project or snapshot, comparing the name and status date.
- If Acumen does not find a matching project or snapshot, Acumen writes the data to the database.
- If Acumen finds a matching project or snapshot, Acumen displays a warning message, asking if you want to overwrite the existing data. If you select
Yes, Acumen overwrites the data. If you select
No, Acumen displays the Select project dialog box and you can select a different project or data source.
